Plastic fitting.

Post by Penhallow »

Massive amount of rain here (not like Houston) went through a very deep puddle today, about 10-20 km per hour, then noticed a scraping noise when back on dry ? land ! Looked underneath and noticed the Slim plastic fitting that appears to cover the centre of the car and exhaust pipe had come adrift, managed to detach it, not damaged, but what is its purpose ? Of course I will reinstall it, as I stated it is not damaged but looking on the 'net it appears to be a rare item !

I believe you are talking about the cover for fuel and brake lines. It should run at the center of the car.

Thanks for the reply, it is very flimsy! just read about on a Swedish forum well know to be ripped of by hitting heavy water !! One would think that made in Sweden where there is plenty of rain a snow this piece of plastic would be more substantial ! Anyway fixed it back on today, must state I have a small inspection pit, where I get in and my wife then drives over, (O.K. finished, reverse now, She couldn't start the car !!!) Well as you can see I am now Free !!
