Tranny Flsuh and Synthetic oilfor 1999 V70

Hello all

I was told by a local mechanic that I should be puting synthetic transmission oil in my 1999 volvo v70. I read the info about flushing the transmission but am not clear as to how I could flush it and replace the regular with synthetic fluid. It seems the manual system suggested would require that you continue to fill with regular fluid.
