1994 850 Mass Airflow Sensor

1994 850 Mass Airflow Sensor

I bought a brand new Bosch MAF from FCP Euro and my engine dies immediately, after start, with it.

My old one works okay [roughens the idle perhaps] but Ive been unable to find another one that makes my car run. Ive even bought multiple ones from junkyards to no avail.

If this one goes bad, what would be my next step?

Ive replaced all vacuum lines and serviced the PCV twice in this car's life time. I have some extra fuel injectors im gonna get cleaned and try those out next.

Btw, this engine is at 336K miles, non turbo.

Any help would be appreciated.

Did you bought a proper one?
Maf sensor's part numbers are different from '91-'96 and from '96-'99.

Will it run with it unplugged? Is it throwing a MAF code?

It wont run unplugged and it doesnt throw a code unless I unplug it.
I purchased it based on a part number for my vin number

It isn't a MAF.Otherwise the car would RUN with it unplugged!

Read OBDI codes from under the hood from ports A2 & A6.

Reset the adaptives and try again (unplug battery completely and touch the negative and positive wires together...foot on brake pedal for extra measure...), connect battery again- push your 4 digit code on your radio to restart it and see if maybe your ECU had gotten used to the foul way your car was driving and a new MAF just confused it.

No codes. Recently replaced the voltage regulator in my alternator (had battery disconnected for days)

Could I have aftermarket fuel injectors from a previous owner?

Perhaps I should swap my idle air control valve with another?

Ive taken the intake manifold off at least a dozen times (doing other matinence) and can't think of anything that do this.
