Okay, I am sure this has been gone through plenty.... Last year I replaced the airpump and control valve and the car passed with flying colors. Well, with emissions coming up again the car decided to throw the P0410 code. I, again, replaced the airpump and control valve and the issue did not go away. I spent some time tracking possible vacuum leaks and decided replaced the lines, and again, I received the P0410 code. Also, yes, I replaced the gas cap...just in case.

Any other thoughts or previous threads that you would recommend?

Thanks!

Is the black and white check valve going from the SAP solenoid to the vacuum tree installed in the right direction?

If you do not hear the blower motor engage check the relay. If the motor is engaging then I would suspect the valve between the firewall and the engine may be defective. Also check the valve on the radiator top by using 12 volts D.C. To see if it clicks.

Thanks all! I have some things to go through this weekend.

Also, had the codes read with a better reader and they were EFI 442 EFI 448.

Thanks again.

If you cannot or choose to not do the modification, here is some information that may assist...

EFI 442 is a "Pulsed secondary air injection system" which appears to be relatively generic code for just saying something is wrong with the PAIR system.
They make a reference to checking the canister purge valve control, PAIR valve, solenoid, hoses and the relay for the air pump.

They claim the EFI 442 may also trigger the EFI 448 "Pulsed secondary air injection system -- Flow too low" and that you'll hear the pump operating continuously as a result.

I'm thinking the EFI 448 could be a result of a failing relay, a failing air pump, or a cracked hose. Since you've already replaced the pump I'd suspect the hose between the air pump and the PAIR valve.
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

Yeah, you should probably take a look at the large hose that runs to the valve on the exhaust. It sounds unlikely that a new pump would fail that quickly. The relay is definitely also a possibility.

Again, thanks for all the help.

Checked the pump, relay, solenoid, replaced vacuum lines, all are good and work. I tried using electrical tape on the hose that goes from the pump to the firewall valve and the car is getting an error. I ordered a new hose and am picking it up today... hoping this is the issue... parts of the hose that is on there is as hard as a rock.

Thanks, again, for all the help and suggestions. It is making a frustrating ordeal much better.
