2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS sets record 6:47.3 Nurburgring lap time
This is interesting to me because it's RWD, not AWD, like the previous record holder, a Lamborghini. I like to see this sort of thing after 30 years of "AWD! AWD! AWD for everything!"
All things being equal, I'll always take AWD, and I did (even though all things were not equal). But they're never equal.
AWD costs $1000-$2000 more to start, then the parasitic losses and greater weight affect MPG, and last, there are greater maintenance requirements in the second half of the car's life.
