1999 V70 PCV Vent Hose 1270321 - Discontinued!

Post by V701987 »

Hello everyone,

First off, this site is a wealth of information and has helped me many times!

I currently re-doing the PCV system on my 1999 V70. It appears that the PCV vent hose (part number 1270321) has been discontinued and I can't find it for sale anywhere. I searched dozens of websites and they all say "this part is discontinued, no available." Pelican Parts says they have it available but then encounters an error when you try to order it. Does anyone have any ideas where I can get one? Is there an alternative part that I can use? THANKS IN ADVANCE!
Here's a link to the part I am referring to: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo- ... se-1270321

Looks like the part for the NA is no longer available. This shouldn't be too hard to make up from standard hose

Gotcha. What should I do about the thin, hard plastic tube?

- Use heater hose and standard vacuum hose.
- See the DIY below:

Hi CN90,

Thank you for the link to your mod. I have been reading the post over and I’m afraid I’m still confused. Please forgive my ignorance, this is my first time doing a PCV job. I think it’s because I didn’t pay close attention to the hose when I disconnected it, and now I can’t even recall exactly how is was hooked up.

-I should use ⅝ heater hose to go from the front port on the top of the PCV box and connect this to the bottom of the air intake duct, clamps on both ends, correct?

-Here’s where I am completely lost. On the original hose that is discontinued, there was was the very thin and brittle hard plastic tube. I will be substituting this with standard vacuum hose? Where am I connecting both ends?

Thanks again CN90!

-Jeff

The link is below is for 1999+ models, give it a try to see if you can spot the place where the vacuum hose is connected to:

Great picture of the connectionsin place on mikes first post

It looks like turbo 1999 models got the first thermostatted PCV system, while the NA stayed with the -1998 style

Are you sure a 1998 NA won't fit? That would make the 1999 PCV A ONE-year only

New intake manifold on 1999 models (due to ETM inclusion) may make this year more of a bastard than anyone anticipated.

Still with plenty of non-genuine hose alternatives out there one should be able to rig something ingenious up. If you do find a solution how about posting some pics of how you overcame the parts deficiency. Just drag and drop photos into the text area......pretty easy now with Matthews super new interface

Getting ready to do the PCV on my 99 S70 Base - 190k. Since this hose (1270321) is not available, can anyone report on their success with cn90's instructions for the 98? Would love to get some details before tearing into this since I cannot have the car down for more than a day or two, and only want to do this once.

Any pointers/suggestions are most helpful.

Thanks!
