Say hello to my little friend..

So. :) To the point., I cant get a new part today let alone fix it before tomorrow evening, when I have to drive 1500km home. And who knows how long this has been broken.
Would you drive it?

Or is there some fix? wrapping something around it all? Iron wire. bubble gum. a leather belt. ? ;)

I tied it together with some thick iron wire. tried to put a strap on it with ratchet. But It all just misses the right angles and attachment locations to be strong and the way I want. It will be dangerous for other drivers if it comes undone.
Personally I think the arm and wheel will stay on the car while driving home like this. But like allready said, its probably not be good for the car, tire and suspension.

So I asked a good friend if the part could actually be gotten here. And by way of a small miracle, they had a left one on stock and it will be here tomorrow early. At least thats the promise...
And he has all the garage tools to get it done. It doesnt seem like a huge job.
And after that I have basicly taken all of the volvo apart once! :D

The part was actually there! For only 18 euros.. Took me 4 hours on a driveway with my trusty travel toolbox to put it in. While fighting of 1 dog trying to lick me and the 2 black cats. And another dog trying to eat me.
But i can go home again tonight with a safe feeling.
Tested it for some 40km on the bad roads here. No clunk!

For posterity..
I took the stabilisor bar of. Took the brake lines of the arms. Took the arms loose of each other. Took left arm including the triangle from the bottom of the car. Took shock absorber of on bottom.
Then i could move the arms out apart from each other far enough to put the bushing on the left arm. And slide it back in the other arm. It was quite a wrestle. But all bolts came of and went back on nicely.
All thanks to a piece of bicycle frame tube as extension to the wrench.
Tire didnt look eaten at all btw.

So all good!

Awesome. That had to be fun to do... Being licked to death isn't such a horrible way to go, it's when the teeth come out that things get real :)
Wisdom requires knowledge as a prerequisite, but knowledge can be developed due to a lack of wisdom.
In order to learn how to fix something, you must first learn how to break it.

yes, it was fun with the licking dog. constantly next to me or chasing a cat underneath the car. Cat found a good hiding spot between the arms and the gastank :)
But the other dog was not so much fun. They are mostly all guard dogs there. Living outside in the yard, eating the leftovers. Not the furry friends we are used to ;) But after some positive pavlov'in with food, he let me be.

I made it home safely and easily. Just a lot of rain at night.. Even brought a 4wheel 2ton trailer home wich I bought en route 200km from home.
Didnt feel any change in behaviour though. Car still pulls to the right as it did before. Really have to steer left.. Even though it was alligned very recently.
I read here a lot of 850s have some kind of issue with allignment. Probably need someone better to do the job.
