1998 v70 xc front spring rubbing inside fender well/strut tower
Hey guys I decided to update my front worn out struts. After doing so the new spring is rubbing the inside of fender well strut tower. I think it’s making it bind and causing the shock to move up inside the engine compartment. Talked to fcp and they say it’s the proper spring but it seems long and bends in towards the strut tower where it binds. Not sure what to do. I tried another strut/shock with spring and same problem. Anyone have this problem?

I have a similar problem with the springs on my 2000 V70R. They don't actually rub but are damn close. The springs seem to bend to one side in toward the inner fender. Not sure why. Someone recently had a similar issue with their springs bending to one side. It was how the spring compressors were loosened caused the springs to bend to one side. Are you using Volvo OE springs or what?
