1998 v70AWD front strut spring rubs wheel well

Post by Miltown »

So I replaced my struts about 2 years ago with the Bilstens and when I was putting it all back together I did notice that each of the springs seemed bowed . I never noticed that before on any other struts I have done but let it go as when I tried to get it straighter it still would still come out bowed. The bow is slight but it is there . I let it go but now I'm getting this knocking noise from the spring hitting the wheel wells. Has anyone else had this issue and is that bow normal in the springs? Thanks

Just ended up replacing both struts complete. No issue now.

Chances are, the springs were not set in the spring seat properly.
