Theoretically you don't need a cam lock tool if you got the one sprocket bolted back on in EXACTLY the same location as it was originally. But the holes are slotted, right? (Plenty of room for error) And there are three slots so there is one correct orientation and two incorrect orientations besides getting the bolts tightened in the right spots within the slots. Can you guarantee that?

If you removed the cam gear I'd be very careful. Ad above, how do you know its back in exactly the right place?
If you just replace the belt you don't need locking tools. A tyre marker or something helps though.

If you put the cam gear back in the middle of the slots you should be OK. This is where cam timing is adjusted for advanced position or retardation whether the cam gear is set to either side of the slots.

IF you pull the alarm fuse you lose the sunroof too.
Source a good used alarm module, change battery in alarm. If you catch it soon enough your alarm might still be good. The battery leaks acid on the pc board if left too long. I got a used module from the junkyard for $10.

After doing any work that can effect the mechanical timing. I put a 30mm socket on the crankshaft pulley bolt. Then turn the engine clockwise as viewed from the front of the engine. That way if anything is off and there is mechanical interference, I'll catch the interference without damaging anything.
