I have used the Akebono ceramic, and like them. Low dusting. But for best bite I go back to oem sometimes. When you get older you don't care but dust some much. This is mainly on my 300sd but all the same.

I have StopTech Street Performance pads all-around and they've impressed me quite a bit - very linear feel no matter whether they're hot or cold, and they barely faded (if at all) when I autocrossed the car on a hot day. I stayed away from the akebono euro ceramics that everyone seems to rave about because it seems the only thing they're actually good at is not producing brake dust

Textar for me, Pagid are also good. Both are OEM for European vehicles. Good initial bite.

Comments are interesting. I hadn't heard of most that are mentioned.
Amazon reviews of the Bosch BP31's are almost all positive and the price is attractive, especially since I'm maintaining 3 850's and they all need fresh pads. One of the reviewers also mentioned very low dust.

I haven't had them on very long, but I'm not seeing much dust, so far. Bosch says, "Advanced platform-specific, copper-free ceramic and semi-met friction material; Pre-attached, OE-style rubber core shim for remarkable noise reduction."

Everyone has their own personal brake shoe requirements, but my opinion is that some of these brake shoes that would be just great for the track may not be the best for everyday driving. Harder materials fade less with severe use, but they are also harder and cause more wear for the brake disc as well as not coming quickly up to temperature. I think a combination of ceramic and semi-metallic like these Bosch shoes is a great compromise. Besides, wheel cleaners seem to work pretty well these days, and if you're washing your car anyway, a few squirts on each wheel is no big deal. Bottom line re the original question is that I am not seeing any sign of dust from these, but I haven't had them on for many miles and can't give a definitive answer. What I CAN say is that my rear brakes were noisy before and they are absolutely quiet now.
