Why you just don't pull another one from junk yard and install it?
They are not mated to the car like on 99+ models.

Just pick up one from '95 turbo car and VDO.

'96+ should have different speedometer signal.

600usd for instrument cluster for '95???
Try e-bay or ricardo.ch....it shouln't be more than 20-50chf.
For 600usd you can buy a whole driveable parts car in Swiss.

If someone has a cluster out of an 850 and could take pictures of that cap it would help our Swiss friend.

A junkyard in Switzerland would be an interesting experience. Cost prohibitive if course, every week someone would have to line up,the junk cars measuring with a meter stick....

Had similar issue on my S60, got a used cluster and swapped the burnt components with a good soldering iron. chances are you won't find in stores the small transistor or even won't be able to read the value stamped on it

@arran79
So....you buy a used one and just pay to a dealer to mate it with your car.
Better solution than paying 630$ for the cluster itself PLUS coding. ;)

@ch850R
Check ricardo.ch in volvo 850 auto parts section...been there few days ago and ran into a something like wholesale for used volvo parts....there were few instrument clusters for 850s.

Hi there,
The thread is a bit old but anyway I'll post pictures of this area of the same VDO part No. PCB.
Here they are (shared from google photos):

If anyone need some help with the markings on the transistors just let me know.
