Proparts fuel pump noisy

Post by AlanKot »

Hi guys,

So I replaced my fuel pump assembly on my 1998 V70R. What a mess... anyway after finally installing it and closing the flap I drove the car and the pump is so noisy. It’s almost unbearable! Any suggestions? Are those usually that loud?

Thanks

Alan

Check and make sure it isn't bottoming out in the tank - the strainer shouldn't touch the tank from my understanding.

Check and/or replace your fuel filter - it may be restricting flow beyond what it should be.

I just realized something. The high pressure line was put back on without the plastic insert at the quick connect part. There are no leaks but I wonder if that’s somehow causing it?

Cheap parts for Volvo is just that, cheap parts.

I used DeatschWerks DW200 pump for my Volvo, they may not be direct fit, the fuel pump is quiet, has 3 year no fault warranty, and I can buy them directly from the manufacturer had me sold.
