Voltage Regulator Removal

Post by JPM »

Yeah, how?!

2004 V70 FWD, my Victoria:

The head gasket replacement was a success! That is because of the invaluable contributions of this community. Thank you all so much!

Now this: After sitting for two months, intermittent alternator charging on the first test drive. The fact that I spilled a bit of power steering fluid on the alternator certainly didn't help. I want to pull the voltage regulator and brushes for a cleaning, but I'm too lazy to pull the entire alternator out of the engine.

Can I get at the brushes from the charging cable side?

It was just done by somebody recently on a NA like yours. Sure is tight in there. The guy bought a low clearance spanner so he could get in.
