So after finishing the PCV job on my 94 T5M I noticed oil on top of the of the steering rack which apparently dripped from the front of the motor. After taking the TB off I noticed that the bottom of the TB cover was oily and the oil seems to have seeped from the "valve cover" gasket (the gasket that seals the cylinder head and the top part which covers the cams).
Now, the TB is due soon anyway and it seems bone dry for now.

Just wondering how to proceed with the leak. I have to mention that before doing the PCV my wife drove the car for 1500 miles or so with almost a quart of oil too much since someone must have overfilled it while she was on vacation. I guess that extra quart combined with the unserviced PCV caused the oil leak in the first place. I´m wondering if I should try to clean the TB cover, add some ATP 205 and drive for a while to see if the leakage persists.

Any input is appreciated.

I would be suspicious that the cam seals are leaking. Very common on these engines.

First I'd clean off the oil as best you can, and see what happens up until you get the TB done. You may well find that with the PCV now done, and oil at the correct level it may not continue to leak. If it does you can try the ATP 205. It worked for me and a RMS.

Good Luck!

Thanks, I will check the cam seals and clean off everything I can without rinsing the TB with brake-cleaner (which the TB probably won´t like).
ATP-205 has fixed my RMS (quite a leak) on my 96 R, so I am pretty confident it could fix that easily.
