1997 V90 wheel fitment

Yesterday, I bought a rather excellent '97 V90, but it needs tires,. I have an excellent set of tires mounted on Perseus wheels. These are FWD wheels and although the bolt pattern is the same, I would expect the offset to be wildly wrong. I have seen wheel charts which show the FWD rims to have an offset of 43", and the V90 wheels are shown as 0 offset. I have seen a number of ads, including eBay, which list these wheels as being 'compatible" with a '97 V90,. Are the ads correct?

Through further Googling, I have found that in 1995 the front suspension for 900's was substantially modified to match the 850,. This results in an offset of 40. Other notes suggest that FED wheels will fit. I will give it a try tomorrow,. I will only report failure,.

For purposes of the question, I put a set of Pegasus 17" wheels 235 45 17 on rear with no spacer but up front... The 235's rubbed the strut, just barely, I tried a shim of approx 5/16 ", it was non hub centric and is not the right way but worked however the outside of the tire rubbed in hard corner and dips like driveways. I put on 225's on front and realized the best way is to bend the lip up and in, it is a bit of work to do it right but works and looks good
