Any bypass pulley? Ac seized...

I have searched threads for days now. I need your help... Please!

Ac seized...
Can't find a used one locally...

Tried to run a shorter sepentine belt, it worked until I needed to run my lights and wipers. Doesn't charge I guess that way because alternator running opposite direction.

Seems like there would have to be a bypass pulley that would work off a similar set up on a different car. Hoping some one out there knows something. I can't afford a new ac compressor right now and I'm spending plenty on cab rides.

I have the AC from my '98 and it was still working when the car died a while back. Don't know the cost to ship it your way, but anything is possible.

Are 98 and 99 AC compressors the same? I know the alternators aren't and are mounted differently.

I am not sure. I was just throwing it out there as I have stuff I do not need laying around the basement taking up room.

I didn't have access to Vida at the time. -98 is listed as Part # 8601533, and 99- has a list of up-changed part numbers with the most recent being 8603132. If I recall the mountings are different.

As noted, there is a bypass belt routing and short belt that can be run to take the AC compressor out of the equation and preserve your ability to operate the car.

E Showell, I read on the 2000 the computer needs the alternator and compressor for the alternator to charge properly. So I was concerned about that. And if you have more info on the bypass belt routing, that would be handy. Shorter belt runs under alternator on spins opposite direction. So, not charging and battery light flashing, today I was hoping I could have enough angle for the belt to move the alternator the correct way and jumped it....It ran for a bit with no flashing battery light and the sputtered out. Also, left some grooves on the flat side of the belt (from the pulley). Found a used one, hopefully it is the right one. If not still need any input. Thanks. Eric
