1999 V70T5M exhaust pipe diameter between cat and front muffler

I made a deal with my other cars not to break until my clutch job on the P to V 70 was complete. Now that that's done, the beetle through a cooling group code, the transporter threw an evap code, but that's all fair in love and war. Now to the 1999 V70 issue. I have an exhaust hole between the cat out front muffler, can someone save me a roll under the car and know the diameter of the pipe? I'll I will probably just flange this rather than cut and weld since the pipe is sound. Thanks in advance

IIRC- from perusing cats online, grumpy and other, 2.0 for N/A, 2.25 for turbo. Use the mouse, spare the creeper.

Stainless steel band clamps sometimes do an awesome job - at least if a bend isn't involved.

Mine is kind of inbetween 2.25 inches and 2.5 inches but less than 2.5 inches

Going to try some Permatex epoxy muffler bandage and clamps and see how it looks

I redid this job with exhaustwrap and my Walker 33976 aluminized clamp the other day in about 10 minutes. Muffler system is really quiet now.

JB Weld the clamp over the defect. The muffler bandage will deteriorate over time. JB Weld and clamp is a permanent fix.

On my 1998 V70 T5, the catalytic converter and muffler pipes are 63 mm (2.48") OD as measured 2" away from the clamp. The pipes are 60 mm (2.36") OD immediately on both sides of the clamp.

To repair the brake at my cat/muffler union, I will buy a Bear River Converters BRC8250SS flange kit for 2.5" OD pipe and have a muffler shop weld in. This worked great in my 2000 V70 NA with 1.75" pipes. The flange is about $40.

I chose the 2.5" flange because it's rather long. The entire 60 mm OD section will be removed and it will slip over the 63 mm section.

^ Frankly I wouldn't invest more than a empty soup can and some bailing wire into that exhaust.
