1999 s80 t6 rough idling with cold start
any advice on a 1999 s80 t6 that runs rough with a cold start only. otherwise the car runs fine. on starting up after sitting for more than 8 hours, the engine idles at 200 rpms and nearly stalls unless i depress the gas pedal and it runs a little rough with hesitation until it warms up.

tmastbash,
There's a couple of things you can check. First, check the charge pipe to the turbos and make sure it's tight. Second, check your coils very carefully for cracks. The usual spot is on the back (opposite the wiring socket), around the small holes where you can see the brushes. I found 4 cracked coils on mine (all had the crack on the right-hand side of where I indicated), which was giving a rough idle. I also had the charge pipe come loose which also gave a rough idle (and eventually stalling issues). I hope this helps & let us know.

Leaking turbo ducts cannot drop the idle RPM to 200RPM & stall out;
Check the mass air flow (MAF) sensor which is install in the duct comming out from the Air Filter; possible causes: loose electric connection to the sensor; dirty sensor because of broken / poor filter element paper;
Fix: disconnect the cable to MAF wile the engine is running, if the problem unchnaged this prove the MAF is faulty; if engine is ruuning rougher then clean the MAF sensor using methylate spirit or electrical-connector cleaner spray can;
