Made a very nice sound and actually gave it a bit more omphh in the higher revs.

:D
Very nice! Did you get a custom job done or use an aftermarket exhaust?
I used an aftermarket.
Went with Simons exhaust (swedish brand, same design as Jetex and several others)

I thought about removing the cat as well, but the sound now is just perfect 5 cylinder porn, so I'll keep it :D

You get all the cool stuff over in Norway and Sweden I guess. I wish there was a nice stainless steel exhaust available for my 98' V70XC here in the US, not the cheap Chinese crap.

I know.
We have all sorts of exhaust brands that makes both cat-back an full systems. Mostly made in sweden or denmark.
Though you could check out BSR tuning.
They are swedish and makes high quality products for mainly SAAB and VOLVO.
They make stuff like stainless downpipes and ready tuning flash kits for volvos.

They have two dealers in N America; One in Missoury and one in Sutton.

The first one is the one I have installed, what a pile of crap. After only driving through 2 winter seasons the pipes and clamps are totally corroded. The paint on the mufflers is peeling off and they are ugly looking. Wasted $800 on that system.

I don't know if the Ferrita is better quality, but at that price point, I doubt it. Doesn't matter because I can't get it here.

Maybe someday I'll have a custom exhaust system made, then I would have slightly better control of the materials I want to use.

Played Alternator In Tetris which was much more pleasant than Out Tetris on the 1999.

2 hours to reinstall and button up. Another 15 minutes needed to put back ECM vent and top off coolant

I have no choice but to have a system made as the only option is cheap crap T407 'stainless' steel like the one on my car. Already has holes appearing in the top of the LH muffler. Don't bother buying or fitting a stainless system unless it is made of T304 stainless. There are 2 companies locally that make custom systems so when I get to that I'll check them out.

Did nothing on my car(s). However, more satisfyingly, boxed up a set of cross bars to go to one of our MVS friends in US and cleaned the 'R' mat set ready to ship out to another MVS friend in US. Finally cleaned the full carpet set and waiting to see how they dry out. Hopefully good enough to ship to yet another MVS regular and friend.

Karma points are much better than fixing cars! Hopefully I will have enough points soon to fix the broken dash mounts on the V70 project. Convinced this car doesn't want to go as it has had so much attention. Almost getting as needy as the 'R'!! Also nice to clear a very small part of the garage! Well there is a 50% off at PnP next weekend if they have any Volvos worth going to see!
