I was running out of ideas for the cause of the smoke so knowing a clogged PTC can cause blue smoke I took it out to clean but the thing was spotless and clear inside, so I pulled a PTC from one of my parts cars and put it in my 855 and the smoke was no more.
So those numbers are ay-ok? I thought dry compression should be in the 150 range? The engine has about 260K on it.

FYI the PTC doesn't mechanically do anything, it is just a hole. If it is spotless, it is working. The plug on the PTC is a for a heating element (the copper plate) that helps to keep it spotless.

The compression numbers I wouldn't trust that every cylinder is badly worn, especially given the the numbers are apparently tightly grouped. But again it is hard to comment in any detail without seeing some actual numbers.

Did you do the compression test with the engine hot?

The engine temperature was in-between cold and operating temp. I might do another test tomorrow to get exact numbers.

I found the actual compression numbers i wrote down.
Dry:
#1: 115, #2: 120, #3: 117, #4: 119, #5: 120.
Wet:
#1: 175, #2: 180, #3: 181, #4: 180, #5: 182.

Another thing i failed to mention is the exaust has a skip in tone every 3 sec at idle, its 'straight piped' as in no cat and the pipe stops halfway through the car (thanks New Haven pot holes LOL). almost seems like a miss as you can feel it through the idle vibration. Plugs, wires, cap, and injectors are new. Nit-picky i know but im trying to get this wagon into tip-top shape for ECU reprogramming.

P.S only trouble code set on the OBD I port is rear 02 because i have no rear 02.

I would think the engine is worn pretty bad. I would be trying to milk it or prepare to replace it, not tune it. :/

The wet values would tend to highlight either rings are stuck, or the engine piston rings are really worn. Good news would be it looks like the valves are good.
