Anyone running a cell phone mount for their daily drive? I'm looking for some opinions on a good one that looks aesthetically pleasing while remaining functional. I know its easy to grab an inexpensive model that attaches via suction cup to the windshield, but i find those an eyesore sometimes. I recently learned about the proclip brand. They seem to custom make their mounts for each model of each vehicle. Its really quite astounding that a company would put in the time and effort to do such a thing. I also like how factory they look. Does anyone have this in their volvo? I would love to see other mounts as well.

I was thinking of combining it with the magnetic attachment: https://www.proclipusa.com/category/mag ... one-mounts
Customer review video I found helpful (not a volvo):

Yea man, I looked at that one when I was searching the forum. I like the ingenuity and how its just floating in mid air. If I wasn't rockin' the stock radio I would definitely consider it!j-dawg wrote: ↑19 Nov 2017, 12:46 Check my homemade one yo!

I hate to ask a stupid question, but what's the point? I just stick mine in the door pocket to keep it from falling between the seat and console. Every Volvo I have owned has always had a door pocket and it makes a easy place to store the phone where I can get it if it rings if I am driving rather than leaving it in my purse. June

I actually prefer the groove unter the parking brake. It fits in there perfectly. And it is close to the 12V charger port (aka cigarette ligher).

I tend to use my phone for music and its nice to have it right there where I can just swipe the screen without looking to change the song. Also I run the torque app to monitor temps, speed, gas mileage and so forth. Lastly I use my phone as a GPS on long trips.June wrote: ↑19 Nov 2017, 17:18 I hate to ask a stupid question, but what's the point? I drive for Uber and Lyft, this is the one I use. Just mounts to the vent and holds your phone with a magnet. You need a case for your phone to slide in the thin sheet of metal.

That's definitely clean and simple. I'm one of those weird people that hates it when the vents are blocked.

I don't mind in the winter because I don't like the hot air blowing directly on me, so I always have the air going to my feet and the windshield.

Since asking for directions is not an option, we need to see our phones live at all times.June wrote: ↑19 Nov 2017, 17:18 I hate to ask a stupid question, but what's the point?
