Track Setup, Wheels and tire size? 2001 C70

Post by foresthump »

I Live near VIR and get to drive on the track about 4 times a year. 2001 C70 coupe. Lowered, bracing, track sway bars, engine modified, Stoptec front brakes S60R rears, etc. But I still drive on my original 17 x 7.5 stock rims.
Suggestions appreciated about largest/widest front and rear tire/wheel sizes without fender modifications.
Thank you.

What you can do is play with the offsets. At the front check the tires do not rub on inner fenders on full lock. You could devise a steering lock inhibitor (a welded bolt on a bracket with adjustable length and locking nut).

On the rear the limiting factor on the inward side is the parking brake cable you are very limited if you plan to keep your parking brake functioning.

Again you are limited without possibly rolling the outer fender lips when moving wider.

Maybe also ask the guys on Swedespeed as several of them are more extreme in the mods they do.
