They don't. I have a 2007 Ford Escape I use for rideshare. My Volvo is my fun car.

I use a magnetic mount similar to the one mentioned by Shaker_chi in my V70XC and it is definately the best mount I have ever had. Easy to place and grab your phone, a good view on the screen when using the navigation. I have put it on the vent in the center. There are two vents, so I don't mind them being blocked. I rarely open up the middle vents anyway.

I have a better solution. Leave it in your pocket and don't drive distracted! Appreciate some use the phone for GPS, but then buy a generic sticker mount for the windshield where it needs to be for limited distraction.
