Misha,
Your 1997 850 is like our 1998 V70. No car electrics go to the seat air bag, it is just the detonator button that supplies the voltage to explode the bag.
Fitment questions, 94 and later 850 to 93 850?

Yes you're right Klausc.
I just surfed over my diagrams and sips airbag info data.
It looks like sips airbag deploys when the sensor is crushed with the door in side impact.
Those wiring and connectors under the seats confused me a bit.It seems that wiring is just for seat belt reminder and heated seats.

Seems like 98's would be worth the wait, unless some very clean earlier SIPS bag seats come available.
My 93 has driver's side power seat, manual for passenger's seat.
Does swapping the side rail accomplish the seat belt adaptation?

I did this on my 1995 850. The only concern is that the rail must be put on "exactly" where the old rail came off. You don't want to have the seat cocked and then jamb when trying to slide it back/forth.
I managed to have both seats at the rearmost positions before swapping the rail with the seatbelt anchor.

I don’t think that’s right misha. Robert blew off a sips airbag in a junkyard without any power attached to the best of my recollection, by throwing Magnetti Marcelli throttlebodies at it.

They do not require power to trigger the seat SIP. I have tested a few at the pull yard with a hammer and they go off just fine.misha wrote: ↑28 Nov 2017, 14:16 That would be interested since i have 2 connectors with a lot of wiring under the seats...for heating, seat belt warning sensor and sips airbags.
Sips airbags still needs power in order to work just don't use crash data from srs module.
They deploy when side impact happens with correct pressure on their casing, but must be powered.

That takes some balls to do that - its a pretty big bang.Ben850 wrote: ↑18 Dec 2017, 13:53They do not require power to trigger the seat SIP.
