I'm still looking for the best way to ensure the 4-5 CLUTCH HOUSING FLUID SEALING RINGS don't get damaged on assembly and how to confirm that the bush they are supposed to contact is in the correct position

I had the same issue with a 2001 XC70. I replaced drum with a good used one and as a just reward 2nd gear was missing. I was pretty fed up and replaced the transmission with a good used one.
