Volvo 850R aftermarket actuator and spring preload

Post by arturjarn1 »

Hello everybody
I ordered a new mambatek actuator , because old one needs to be changed. Mambatek actuator comes with 5 different springs, and has already installed a 9psi one. My turbo is TD04HL-13G and engine is 2.0(207 hp,b5204t), and factory boost is about 0.7 bar so about 10psi. The preinstalled spring is a bit weak i think and i would like to know if i could put inside the actuator the 0.8bar/11psi spring. Is it safe without any ecu tune? Should i stick to the 9psi spring ? What are your thoughts guys ?

Thank you
Artur

Standard TCV is supposedly good for upto 12psi, but gets a little stressed over there and can flutter of 12psi.

Don't see 10 psi and 1psi being too different. You may feel a little difference on the road. 850R with a 2.0 liter engine. Who knew?

Thanks for your response. Volvo made 850R's with 2.0 engines due to tax laws in italy :).

I'm pretty sure the ECU will not let you have more boost.
