Volvo 850 “Picnic Package”?

Post by SonicAdventure »

Saw this ad on Craigslist, and when I googled it I couldn’t find any reference to the picnic package online.

https://philadelphia.craigslist.org/cto/6410908700.html

Does anyone have any photos of a car equipped with one of these? Thanks.

Wow what an a$$hole. Would you buy a car from such a whiner?

Never heard of the 'picnic' table fold out. May have been a 'thing' when they are new.

Wow...that ad was worth reading for the entertainment value alone. I'd go look at the car just to get my picture taken with whoever posted that ad. Jamaican pine burlwood from the Philippines and cassette players that kill hermit crabs? Holy moly!!

8) Picnic table is probably a folding table from the IKEA in conshohocken, along with some creative mounting hardware and imagination. Go meet this person it'll be fun!

This is gold. Just so we have it forever:
1996 Volvo 850 wagon - $1100 (Fort washington)

1996 Volvo
condition: good
fuel: gas
odometer: 128780
paint color: grey
size: mid-size
title status: clean
transmission: other
type: wagon

Hi I have a Volvo wagon for sale. It is a grayish sort of color. Needs a little work to be perfect but I don't have the time to do it. This car is known to be a reliable car check reviews online. It's been around here for awhile but since I am not needing it at this time I have decided to sell it. Please don't lowball me or say you are going to have someone wire me money. I've seen all the scams and I'm not falling for them. Meanwhile, we have a new scam, where apparently the person comes to your house to see the car and then they try to have you to get money off the car. I thought I've seen it all but I've never seen so much shit in my whole life. And just look at the news today - And these young idiots are out trying to sell their own products responding to a craigslist ad. How crazy it that. What we have in our country today is a crisis, and our young people better wise up. It's not time for lazy laying about all day, playing games on Cell phones...no, it's time to work! That's more what our country needs today, hard working happy young people who care.

Anyway this car is pretty nice I think it is a special edition. It features cloth interior. The seats are fairly clean except for a small dog vomit stain in he back seat from about 3.75 years ago when my dog was a puppy. This car has not been used to haul animals I have a suburban for that. This Volvo was mainly used 2-3 days a week when I commuted from Fort Washington to Hatboro for my old job at the clinic. Well the boss of that place is a total asshole so now I don't work there anymore. Time to sell the car. It's either sell it now or put it in storage in my beach house. Not sure that would be a feasible solution at this time. The car has the original tape player that was NEVER USED! I've only listened to the radio...never even so much as inserted a tape into the slot. I hate analog recordings that's why's there are high frequencies in them that annoy me and there was a time in the past that the frequency from a tape player in my old Camry scared two of my hermit crabs TO DEATH! Yes, they died in the Camry and I had an impromptu funeral for them at my uncles house in Rhode Island as we were traveling at the time. Skipper and JoJoe, R.I.P., so yeah, the Volvo cassette player was NOT used! I can even give a certified letter or a sworn affidavit for an additional nominal fee when my attorney returns from vacation. The gear shifter is custom crafted from Jamacain bullseye pine and you will not see another one this purely beautiful on another Volvo because this one was handmade by an artisan in the Phillipines and exported (legally) here to the states after the war. It was custom fitted for my hand, so you may want to consider replacing it or having surgery to your hand to make it more like mine so you can shift better. It also has the original Volvo wine glass set in the back area and the optional picnic package that you don't see on a lot of Volvos in the States but they are popular in Europe. The picnic package is a small folding table that emerges from the spare tire well and allows you to enjoy a picnic lunch with ease. This table was used 3 times (have documents to prove it) so it is in very NICE shape, with the exception of a tiny nick in the Formica from where my friend hit it with a spoon because he burnt himself on the hot coffee. Other than that it's mint. Please don't lowball me I'm not hurting for money and I don't need to sell this car I'm quite possibly "rich" and few things in life really bother me but lowball idiots and their pernicious and dastardly use of subterfuge to trick people into selling cars cheap really sets me off. By the way this car has a custom made cup holder in the rear, so you can rest assured that you will be feeling good going down the road in this car.

Well I contacted him or her (not sure) for photos and I got a long rambling response about the evils of digital cameras and how their brother in law’s boss lost tons of money when the film industry took a dive, etc.

I asked if I could come and see the car and they were like “....i’ll Think about it. I’m not one for having untrustful people in my presence.” I think they were upset because I said I hadn’t heard of the picnic package and was excited to see that. Oh well. If I go and they let me take pics I def. will! Not holding out hope though...
