Yes sir. my apologies on not getting back to you more quickly. That is what my unit looks like from this view. Where the small hose, your three legged camel is bringing me goes in, is flush and does not appear to be a cap which can be pried Open.

Except the second picture on your first post shows a pry spot at the base of the cap.

Klaus, except that I have been trying to pry that area and all I’m doing is breaking down the plastic. Hence the reason for the request for assistance. The design I have is different from the designs that have been discussed thus far (the one with the cap). Is the design I have a “press and rotate,” do the tabs “pry in or out,” is there a special “tool or technique,” is this thermostat meant to be replaced? I find it interesting that no websites or forums thus far have addressed this type of thermostat, which is clearly different from the standard “pry the cap off” solution. I appreciate your insight.

I have taken some more pictures of my spare thermostat housing to see if it is the same. It has similarities to the first pictures that Chuck posted and I can see little 'dimples' possibly that might be the pry points.

Are the little slots the points you are talking about that are the pry points? They are very small.

Neil, The area I’ve circled in red is what I am assuming to be Klaus is referencing as possible options for pry points.
