I'm struggling hard with my daughter's V40 (2000, 170k). The CEL has been lit since she got the car over a year ago, but the car starts and (mostly) runs OK. It's been throwing codes for a few things and I've worked through most of them, but I can't shake this one, and it won't pass inspection to get re-licensed this month.
P1107 seems like it's associated with MAP sensor as a general code, but I haven't seen a Volvo-specific reference that would help me diagnose it further. I swapped the MAP sensor (located on intake manifold) and no change. The car runs a bit rough when cold and seems to not get great gas mileage, although I haven't actually done a gas mileage calculation for a bit.
Any clarity on what P1107 actually means and how to beat it into submission?
Can't clear P1107 fault

Did you change the MAP sensor that goes into the top of the intercooler hose?
Will the code clear at all?
What kind of code reader are you using?
I had a stubborn CEL when I got my S40.
Had to reset the ECU with my ScangaugeII. It wasn't a simple "clear codes".
There was a long procedure but it fixed it.
Im not sure all readers can do this.
As for the rough running, go through all the usual suspects.
But I'd start by cleaning the MAF sensor, throttle body and IAC valve.

The MAP sensor I swapped was on the intake manifold, approx at cyl #3 position, tucked under a fuel rail. Is there another one somewhere? I had read some vehicle models had two and some had one. The sensor I replaced looked like this:

On the code reset, I tried a couple of times with the loaner Bosch code reader at my local auto parts shop, but no avail. I just bought a BAFX Bluetooth unit and the TorquePro App (partly because I wanted to play with some new cool toys). It connects and reads fine, and has cleared other codes but this one is stubborn (or possibly indicates a real problem)

I changed the one on top of the intercooler hose. It didn't make any difference on mine because the problem turned out to be something else. Just don't remember what at this time.
Here's a photo from another thread - not mine - but you can easily see the MAP sensor on top.

I may still have the extra MAF sensor if you're interested.

Thanks for the pic. I went and looked at mine, and it's different - I don't have a MAP on top of the intercooler hose connection. when I look under the intercooler hose, I found a sensor, but it does appear to be a temp sensor, not a second MAP. It's like the pics in this thread:

At this point, I might just have to open the checkbook and take it to a specialist. Any other suggestions to try?

Wish I could help more.
Maybe a dealer could get you a proper description of your part to determine whether it is a MAP sensor or a temperature sender as you suspect.
