2007 XC70 ETM module not appearing in VIDA

Post by 850Squared »

OK I have a weird situation here. Threw my friend's 2007 XC70 on VIDA and the ETM module does not appear in the diagnostic section. No ETS lights or messages of any kind on the dash. Car is surging...but there is MAF related codes in VIDA. Has anyone ever experienced the ETM module not appearing in VIDA?? Oh and my VIDA/DICE is the 2014D version.

It doesn't have an ETM. It has the electric throttle with a simple motor and position sensor. The ECM runs that one as there is no microprocessor in the throttle. Unplug MAF to eliminate fluctuating signal causing the issue. The ECM will substitute a value and it will run but not with normal power with it unplugged. If the engine is no smooth running then MAF or air leaks are suspected.
