hi this is volvo s70 front door window...
there is a piece of metal in the picture.What does this metal do?
what is the function?

I believe it is the stop for the roller.

From the picture the metal stop has not been pushed fully home. If you look at the tab just to the left of your red arrow, the should snap into a cutout below it. If it is not seated correctly it will jam the roller from moving.

but if you look carefully, the metal at the bottom has entered the metal nest and the metal at the top has not entered. The metal nest is not mutual. The other metal comes out and the other is out.

I think I need to remove the other door and see how it works
