2010 S80 Steering Wheel Air Bag Removal

Post by dcbarryva »

I want to replace the trim ring (peeling coating on the plastic is a bit sharp) on the steering wheel and first need to remove the air bag. I have tried several torx sizes (25, 27, and 30) inserted in the two holes in the real of the wheel but none seem to fit. Does anyone know if this the correct method? If yes, the correct torx size? Any further instructions would be appreciated. In advance many thanks.

If it's the same system as in the video, it's not a torx screw, it just like a tab, a regular flat screw driver inserted then pushed somehow upwards to unclip the tab

It is like Oragex says. Just turn the wheel so you can get the screw driver or other tool in there - it cannot be too long - but neither too short.
