Fitted LED:s to the reverse lights. The one on the right is still a regular bulb in the picture. Not much difference apart from matching the extra light at the bottom in colour temperature so I'll keep looking for something stronger.

Just an idea about this lower torque rod, the rear smaller bushing is only slightly attached to the metal frame so it doesn't move sideways, other than that it has a gap almost all around. I think most of us see it as failed, but the way it's designed it's almost impossible for it to fail. At least that's how I see it, I may be wrong.

I compared relative movement between old and new units. Old unit, I could see daylight around the rear (smaller) rubber bushing. New unit, not so much.
Lateral travel on old unit when wiggled from the tail (those who have the part in front of you will understand) was much more pronounced than the new one. Up and down travel of the tail of old unit much more pronounced than new unit.
Condition of front (larger) rubber bushing appeared good. Wondering if a hybrid unit with a rubber large bushing and poly small bushing might not be the way to go here. Might give the durability of poly in the rear with improved shock absorption up front.

Yeah, I did see that, but at 2x what FCP wants for a Hutchinson all rubber mount, I didn't think it worthwhile. Plus, I think FCP has an all poly lower torque mount for less than $30.
If somebody wants to send me an FCP all poly one, I 'd be happy to partially disassemble it, use the back to make a hybrid mount and play product tester, but I'm not coming out of pocket to do that.

Lower torque mount got put to the test today. Virtually eliminated the odd klonk and judder on low speed downshifts-- 3rd to 2nd (I think it is actually the 2 to 1 downshift since it happens at such a low speed). I'm betting a couple more transmission drain and fills will banish them permanently.

Tailgate struts are in my future too but prying about the plastic trim pieces in the dead cold is the last thing you want to do.

How true. I am putting off changing cabin filter for the same reason. Those plastic bits don't need any encouragement to crumble in our hands.

I got my car with the LH tail light frame kind of bent due to an accident by the previous owner. I thought it was the trunk lid that had issues since I cannot close it without slamming the lid multiple times before it caught the lock. When it got to cold it brought another issue with trunk lid open warning.
Brought it to a body shop yesterday to make it work better and, though I have to pay a few extra $$ than what I expected, the lid now closes perfectly without slamming it.
