Hello everyone,
I have a 1999 v-70 ... 2 days ago I plugged it in as it was very cold here and haven't drive the car for months. It took some work to get it started but she fired up and I pulled it into the trailer so I could haul it to my buddies shop. We let it sit overnig in his heated shop to thaw out a bit, I knew the car had the common Volvo fuel leak as the line was corroded and falling apart. We changed the fuel line, charged up the battery and now the car has no spark ..... it doesn't even try to fire up.
Checked coilpacks and none of them seem to be powering up ..... any suggestions would be very helpful.
Thank you

They take a common 12V from a relay so should be easy to fault trace

Search “1999 coil assignments “ to find info

If you can’t find it it’s also referenced in the maintenance record for my 1999 V70T5M nautical blue in that forum

Would a bad battery cause this?
Replacing the battery tomorrow as we know the battery is hooped from being frozen, it won't take or hold a charge

Yes it will. ME7 needs a good battery to run the ECU and spark

I didn't realised that low battery could cause this problem, untill i experienced it with my Citroen Xm last year....DIS ignition.
I thought that...if it is able to crank....it isn't battery although it cranked a bit slower than usual.
To cut the story....Battery eventually died i replaced it and never had the issue again.

I thought about this problem and i came to a conclusion that....that little power remained in the bad battery was enough to crank the engine, but wasn't enough for energizing main injection relay.
I also think that regular cap & rotor ignition wouldn't make this problem with low battery.
