Volvo S60 Faulty Wiper Motor

I have a 2004 s60 volvo S60 , the car has been standing for a year , now the wipers wont work , if u replace the relay , the fuse just keeps blowing immediately , if i disconnect the power from the wiper motor it is doing the same , i put a ground wire directly to the motor and connected power directly , and all the speeds on the motor just works fine

Since you removed the col panel to get to motor connection did you see any rodent chewed wires? The wiper motor circuit is simple. It goes into car on the left sside in the cowl area and then to the CEM that is in the bracket under left side of dash. You cab push the lower white painted metal bracket tab to the side and then move bottom of CEM to rear and then it will pull down out of the bracket. Then you can move it to see if there is wire damage behind. There are three wiper relays on the CEM, hi, lo, intermittent.

looked the wires through one by one till it goes into the vehicle , everything seems to be fine , will take out the CEM today and have a look , any idea which relays to look for , thank you very much in advance

That's exactly what I thought. Did you open up the plastic channels that the wire bundles run through under the cowl? The diagram for the wipers just about makes my head spin, it's overly complicated because it shares power through what looks like 'relay logic' with the headlamp wipers (if equipped) and both washer pumps, which might be where your little friends had their pizza party. Remove the bumper cover and look at the wiring for all that stuff up front.

I studied at that diagram a few minutes. There is one, possibly two conditions they are addressing in that complex relay setup.

1. fairly confident: If the windscreen wipers aren't working, the washer pump won't squirt. Makes sense.
2. Less confident, I'd have to set it out in a flow chart with yes/no conditions to be certain: if chassis ground connection(s) are lost, except the wiper motor ground itself, the wipers default to on/low.

Because the wiper/washer circuits are so intertwined a short in the wiring to the washer pumps could pull the wiper fuse even if you haven't pulled the stick to operate the washer pump. If you find no evidence of a rodents damage try unplugging the washer pumps (might be shorted internally) and see what happens.
