Gear Shift Knob 1994 940 Sedan
The Gear Shift Knob fell apart (plastic and spring broke). It had long been cut from overdrive button and functions to shift gears. (Car is automatic). I ordered an exact same part #6843471 and have not been able to fit it on so that it presses the pin when lever is pulled back. Any solutions? I figured since I wasn't connected to overdrive with the other knob (really same exact piece of plastic) it wouldn't be a problem, but something is obviously not working. Thanks for tips.

Pull it back off. With a paper towel put a light coat of oil on the shaft. Reinstall the knob. Smack the top to set it all the way down. Clean up any excess oil.

Thank you! More force than I expected. Happy to have a knob again.
