WTB- Venice Beach Ca area?

Looking for both an indy shop and used car in So. Calif. Son has a 2001 XC70 and is also looking for an additional car for about $3000. Obviously it won't be a 'great', 'new' car, but we want one that is in fine running shape and requires little repair. Any ideas? Looking on Craigslist only brings up questionable vehicles. I prefer to use connections here for a reputable seller. His '01 needs some TLC, so I also need a shop contact- Venice Beach Ca.
