V70 Steering wheel squeeking - what is Low Temp Grease? Topic is solved

I remember cdn tire has low temp grease.
Most greases are dielectric, except graphite and the like.

Spoke to the foreman again at the dealer and he has loaned me his tube of grease to try and then return. It is the original in a Volvo tube with correct part number. I'll try to tackle this on the weekend. I will take under advisement the movement of the dash maybe causing the issue, but it sounds like it is right at the join between the steering wheel and the column covers where the clockspring is. I'll update when I find the source.

Well, a lollipop to the person who said check the lower column bearing. It wasn't actually the bearing but close enough. I am guessing with the car standing it and it being a dry atmosphere here most of the time in Calgary the car has dried out in the garage. What actually appears to be making the noise is the rubber boot over the lower bearing at floor level. There is a plastic sleeve on the lower column that passes through the rubber boot and it was dry there. A little lithium grease between the 2 and all was quiet (for now!).

Hopefully it will stay that way, but won't really know until I drive it again whenever the paint has been wet polished/buffed/polished and the multitude of small paint chips on the hood are touched in.
