The circuit board is integrated into the switch/stalk assembly down in where the harness plugs in.

Steering Wheel Module (SWM), it is 3/254 in the wiring diagrams for the XC90.

That is (was) certainly uncomfortable. For the rest of the users, the headlight switch unit sometimes known to go bad, as mentioned above. Mine was acting a little with the small led getting dim when pushing down on the knob
