XC70 rear wiper blade?
Does anyone know where the heck to get a replacement rear wiper blade for a P2 XC70? Unlike front blades, the spring assembly on this is built into the arm and the only thing you can replace is the physical rubber strip itself. I tried calling my local autozone but they don't really know what I'm talking about and don't carry anything like that, and nothing shows up on the web.

What model year? I think they changed them along the way. My - 04 has a snap on plastic wiper blade stuck onto the arm that looks like a traditional wiper blade. Then later models have something more like a flatblade. Bosch among others make both.

2007.
This is a random pic showing a multipart arm assembly that looks like mine (although partially disassembled):

A normal wiper blade has all the leaf springs built into the replaceable blade part:

... but on this, the springs appear built into the arm and the only part that comes out is just the actual rubber.

The first picture shows the same kind I have. Perhaps they didn't change it until the P3s..
The lower part is what is sold as a replacement wiper blade. It snaps off easily if pulled towards the glass. Like this one: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/5086/11 ... e-v70-xc70
The whole arm is also sold as replacement in some places, at least over here.

You can buy a cheap replacement blade and cut the insert to fit into the arm with a Dremel or shears.
I do this on both the P2 and BMW rather than pay the rear wiper tax.

Yeah I've been seeing that, but I'd rather not pay 2x the cost for a whole arm when I don't need it.
Oh, well that's certainly a thought isn't it. I'll slip the old strip out and see if anything at the local store has compatible groves.

It takes a standard width blade insert but the length is odd and I don't think AZ had them
The BNW one was something like $50...crazy. If you still have a good piece of old blade from the front, you can recycle them and get two rear blades out of each front. Lubricatewith used engine oil of course.

Good thing a replacement blade is only €8 or so here. No need to craft stuff. They last forever too since I don't use it too much apart from when I'm about to reverse.

That's not too bad, they look like they have a really cheap package deal on the fronts too. With shipping that's competitive with local prices, I'll have to check that out, thanks.prwood wrote: ↑24 Jan 2018, 08:24 $9.59 Bosch blade from FCP Euro. Free lifetime replacement:
