Was given a set of 4 Volvo wheels (in branded bags) by a friend of a friend of a friend. There was a scrap of paper included that had v70 1999 15" 165 written on it. I can't 100% confirm that this paper belongs with these wheels though. I have no idea how wheels are measured- these are exactly 16 1/4 inches in diameter edge-to-edge, and exactly 7 inches thick edge-to-edge. Based on their weight and the surface rust I'm going to assume these are steel. I have no use for these, should I bother trying to sell them or just scrap them?

Where in the US are they located?

Near Boston area. Does location make a significant impact on the price of loose wheels this old?

The wheels don't look bad. If they are Volvo OE rims they usually have the data and part number stamped into the front of the rims near the center between the lug bolt holes. Check in there for the info and let us know. Most 15" steels were 6J or 6.5J wide (6 or 6.5").

A decent set up here in Canada will sell for $80-100.

Location makes a difference as far as folks being willing to come get them :)

Can't imagine how much UPS or FedEx would want to ship them, but I know it won't be cheap...

Steel indeed and indeed not bad condition, normal after winter use. These are great for winter wheels with winter tires on them, these 'catch' much less snow and ice inside when parking in deep snow so it helps not having steering wheel vibrating on highway. Plus you can kick potholes with these as much as you want (assuming one doesn't care about the tires getting sidewall bulges)

15" is for older models, but might sell on local classifieds given the winter conditions in your area. Our Volvos have very specific wheels pattern not compatible with other car brands. When searching for a second set of wheels for winter tires, the only choice is original Volvo wheels. I would list them even for not much, it will help someone

Good call, I didn't notice that with all the dust on them. Yes, they are official Volvo wheels, I added another pic to my first post with the stamps (Same wheel as the other three pics. I can drag out and photograph the others if it's necessary).

edit: I'm not sure what to make of this info though now that I look at it. That wheel was 7 inches wide, pretty much exactly, which is about 178mm. If 6J= 6in, that would be about 152mm. The 165 written on the scrap of paper would translate to 6.5in though. Not sure how or if these line up.

Oh, yeah. I wasn't thinking of that because I wasn't expecting these to be worth enough to ship anywhere.

I'm planning on getting rid of them, but I have no idea what type of wheels these are or what they're worth. I'm asking around in a few places mainly so I can figure out what I have so I can make a proper 'for sale' post if necessary.
