Vida 2014D Times out 12/31/2017 23:59 Topic is solved
Hi Guys,
Older Vida works ok with now and again re-activation on one laptop.
Now my workshop laptop has "klone" Vida 2014D and genuine Vida for parts but not sure now after the patch download to keep older Vida working that I don't get any pictures in genuine Vida once login. It logs in and can put in details and search but in the end no pics!! Now Volvo had update on 14 Jan for this issue and that all works fine now (asked my buddies at Volvo parts) but unfortunately I can't get TIE to work or in that fact that Volvo no reply....
Anyone has the 2 on one laptop and has the same problem?

THANK YOU!!!! All My Love from Sweden to you!!!! From a home-mechanics wifeRickHaleParker wrote: ↑02 Jan 2018, 18:12 Successfully modified the 2014A patch to extend the subscriptionExpireDate to 2099 23:59:59.
The patch will not enable you run 2014D under windows 10 with IE11. For that your need more then the patch.
Get attached file.
1. Unpack 2014A-B-D-2099.zip file to Desktop.
2. Run 2014A-B-D-2099.exe
3. Install to C:\
4. Reboot and log in to Vida after the icon turns green.
2014A-B-D-2099.zip
I have Vida 2014D running native in Windows 10 E11 in real time in a VM.
Next ... do it on the host just like any other application.
Thanks to Doublebug for showing where to look.

"Trojan.Gen.9 detected"............
Anyone else had this? A Norton false alarm?

Trojan.Gen.9 means that Norton does not "like" something not that it has detected a virus. Some people call it a false detection, I call it what it is, Security Theater.
Security theater is the practice of investing in countermeasures intended to provide the feeling of improved security while doing little or nothing to achieve it. Anything to keep one believing their product is worth what they charge for it.
I won't have Norton on any of my machines, Norton is more trouble then a virus.

I told Norton to behave itself, then ran your patch and VIDA is now restored.RickHaleParker wrote: ↑12 Feb 2018, 10:11 Trojan.Gen.9 means that Norton does not "like" something not that it has detected a virus. Some people call it a false detection, I call it what it is, Security Theater.

NOTE: I Ignored rar popup windows when they appeared. ie. I didn't update.
I had the same issue with VIDA2014D. Resolved by doing the following:
1. Located "Patch Vida 2014-A-B-C-D.rar" on the desktop. Rightclicked
2. Find 2014A.exe in the list. Rightclicked
3. From the options given, choose "view file"
4. Rightclicked "VIDA" folder. Choose "view file" again
5. Rightclicked "patch" folder. Choose "view file" again, NOW you should see filldb.cmd, filldb.sql, and licence.
6. Doubleclicked licence. Given numerous options to open the file, I chose "WordPad". About five lines down I found subscriptionExpireDate, and changed the year to 2099. Pressed Ctrl-S to save.
At this point I'm not sure what I did. Pressed unknown icon on top left of screen, left of the save icon. The file editing window closed and a window called "view" popped up, with the following: "File "licence" was modified. Do you wish to update it in the archive?" I pressed "Yes".
Then a similar "view" window popped up. "File "2014A.exe" was modified. Do you wish to update it in the archive?" I pressed "Yes".
7. Finally, I closed that window and restarted the computer.
8. Started Vida normally. Yah! It worked!

The repack version that runs natively in Win10 peaks my interest. Does anyone know if one can get around the pro version OS requirement on that repack build in win10 by changing editionid in regedit like you could in win7? As I recall when I installed vida on old spare lap running win7 home, you addressed prerequisite software and cleanup, changed edition id to Professional, installed VIDA, then (important or you will lose windows product activation) changed editionid back to what it was before you reboot the machine. Vida installer checks the windows edition. The installed/running program does not.
I like the idea of getting VIDA on my newer laptop, preferably not in a VM (i7 quad + 12GB + SSD + touch + a battery that lasts more than 10 minutes). However it was preloaded with win 8 core from Samsung, free upgraded to Win10 home some time ago.
