I agree, after my cousin used a high mileage oil in his Durango and grenaded a pistion ring then in his S70 and blew a cam seal, I stay away from high mileage fluids/oils. Yes, both of those things would have gone wrong anyway, but the swelling agents and cleaners probably accelerated the failures.wizechatmgr wrote: ↑02 Feb 2018, 17:04 I've used the Transmax import synthetic which is also 3309 compatible... I'm wary of "high mileage" products for the simple fact that occasionally they have additives you may not yet need.

Like I said, I use the Castrol Dex/Merc and it's been just fine. I highly recommend it. Also for the price and availability, you can't beat it.wlkstout wrote: ↑02 Feb 2018, 20:58 Not trying to rescue it just clean it up some. Fluid was brown, no pink when i got it. And have had good luck with Maxlife before but that was replaced at Wal-Mart with the castrol stuff. Maybe I'll just use Supertech or Castrol Dex/Merc, whichever is cheaper and call it a day.
