2007 XC90 3.2 AWD Issue - DEM-P188974

Post by Powza »

I recently bought a 07 XC90 with 146k. Everything handled nicely until a snow storm hit and noticed AWD isn't working. I checked with a ViDA DiCE and it said (DEM-P188914 Oil pressure pump performance. General electrical fault. Short circuit to ground or open circuit) code. I took it back to the dealer and they installed a new pump and added new fluid. The error code went away and the same day a new code appeared. This time it's saying (DEM-P188974 Oil Pressure Pump Performance. Mechanical Failures. Actuator slipping).

I'm lost at this point. Any help is appreciated.

OK now.

First: Check your DEM-P188974-Error Code-Details.pdf report. On the very end you will see Rear Right goes like "Velocity rear right 166058.09 km/h". It is like Apollo 11 going to the Moon. Check you wheel speed sensor there.

Second:
I took it back to the dealer and they installed a new pump and added new fluid.
Did they replace the small filter there? If not - off you go. Do it asap.

Third: Check that you angle gear is OK. Go under the car and grab your propeller shaft with hands and force it to turn. It should NOT turn. If it is turning - new angle gear. I do not think this is your problem but does not hurt to check.

Fourth: Could be DEM electronic module sending BS and has to be repaired.

I believe your Haldex filter is almost clogged and the clutch is slipping.

Good luck

The dealer agreed to check out the issue further to get it fixed. Scheduled to go in on Monday. They did say they replaced the filter when they installed the new pump.

And?

Waiting on the other site as well, someone else had mentioned pressure sensor maybe? Not enough fluid?
