Missing the volvo, but there might be light at the end of the tunnel

Post by kaneelschep »

So sadly I did exactly nothing to the Volvo. Well ok.. I did something. I stole a wiper and wiperfluid out of it and put it in our audi.
Had no time to work on it cause to make things harder, I bought a house 1400km away, got a job there and have to move within a couple of weeks.
Sadly noone gives any money here for a broken old volvo.

Now I have been driving this for the last few months. 2001 85Kw pd tdi b5.5 Audi A4. 400000kms..

Great engine. Pulls the full trailer uphill like its nothing and still does 30mpg. 45mpg with empty trailer.
But has seats like planks.. Terrible car for long drives.. ridiculous.
After 15 hours I arrive broken. Cant even take a nap on the backseat while wife drives. No room or comfort..
In the Volvo I arrive quite well rested and slept like a baby in the back.
Also fitted a lot more junk in the trunk. People could actually sit behind me and have legs at the same time.

So i look back at our volvo and weep...
We might have found someone who can bring it on a trailer. For not too much money.
No idea what then though.. :) Since the importcost to hungarian plates would be almost the cost of buying a local volvo 850..
But at least she will stay close to us! It somehow feels nice and right..
