All I can suggest is perhaps the manual trans has the connection at a different point or has the cable been trapped during the swap? Not sure where on the manual trans you have to connect to? Can you post another picture so we can see the gap between the cable and the connection as I can't see the connection from the pictures.
Neil.
Yes thats a solution. But my car is a 95 and originally came with 2 VSS's (new T5 box has also 2 VSS's)...so splicing into the ABS sensors should'nt really be needed. The solution to a properly working gearbox isnt the thing im after actually.
Thats the tricky part. I threw the old one in the bin and its emptied already...so I have no reference to the old situation. But that would lead to one simple question: Are there more than one type of VSS that one can find on the back of a pre 96 850?polskamafia mjl wrote: ↑18 Feb 2018, 23:55 I only remember 1 VSS plug on the transmission and it didn't look like that. Do you have the old transmission still? Do the old and new transmission have the VSS in the same locations?

Yes, again thats a solution for making the electrical part work. But thats not what im after...i know how to make it work. I want to know what iam doing wrong or what iam overseeing. Learning from mistakes and such you know...hausmeister wrote: ↑21 Feb 2018, 05:11 Why not connect temporarily with wires/alligator clips or something? If it works just extend the plug by soldering in a longer piece.
