Re: Volvo 850 t5 conversion
It's not exactly a unique set up, if you look at the wiring for fenix 5.2 and motronic 4.3, they share pretty much all the same contacts. I have put in the T5 harness, and it sparks, I believe am not far off, maybe something as silly as a wire missing or situated in a different place. I also believe there is someone out there that knows this, but hasn't seen this post yet

I've just paid £800 for a mitsubishi galant vr6 ralliart edition 94 of 200, needs tlc, but people are already trying to buy it of me, I won't be doing a vr4 conversion though as gonna keep it standard, though there are people who can do this successfully near me

How many Volvo forums have you been to asking the same n/a to turbo conversion question? How many N/A to turbo conversion have your come across? You might not want to believe it, but your setup is unique.

Did you not read what he posted?

10v cars don't even have air metering....MAF...they have MAP instead and IAT(intake air temperature sensor).
Maf= mass airflow sensor
Map=manifold absolute pressure
Ecu management is totally different and use totally different sensors,injectors,manifold,emissions system...and the list goes on...and YES ...they are OBDI only....they produce flash codes.

If you're trying to run an engine on Motronic 4.3 without the aforementioned sensors, it's not going to work. If your original Fenix 5.2 did not have MAF, MAP, or IAT, the car won't start on that harness.
That being said, we didn't have 10 valve cars in the US, and I'm not familiar with them, so I'm not much help here.
Someone might have done something like this before, but I haven't seen it. This is like an NA to turbo build. It's only been done a couple times, and it's not very well documented... or recommended.

Aye I did read that, that's why I have a maf sensor in now. I have installed a t5 wiring harness with all the plugs ready to be connected into the right sockets. Problem is when I say 10v, people think I have 2 ecu's. I saw a few posts of 20v converted to t5, or I wouldn't of taken this project on. If you can do it to a 20, you can do it to a 10

Okay, you say you have a T5 harness, did you also switch it to Motronic?
Hook up everything where it needs to go and hook up the Motronic ECU. That’s where I would start.

T5 harness, T5 ecu, motronic 4.3 , also everything that came with the engine, I am using the crank sensor from the 10v as the engine came out of an auto car, but there same part numbers, the cam sensors are a little different, tried both, same situation and no codes in the obd for them. I did get fan at low speed or faulty though
