Hi,
I was wondering if you someone could help, I’m trying to retro fit a 2016 TFT Instrument DIM cluster in my late 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design.
Everything connects up and the LEDs show (seatbelt, handbrake etc...) and the fuel gauge works but the center TFT display does not come on...
A group of Russians sell a module which will apparently make it work using an Arduino board.

Sounds completely sketchy, but also very intriguing! I can't help with your issue, but you have piqued my interest...

Hmm... after viewing some Youtube videos, it looks like the center TFT should just work with the stock connector. Looks like only the "eco", "power", and gear selection indicator don't work out of the box. Looks like the Russian adapter fixes the gear selector display, at the minimum.
You installing a used cluster? Any way to confirm if the center display worked originally? What model did the new cluster come out of?
Probably against forum rules for me to post this, but there is a huge recent thread over on Swedespeed with a how-to (http://forums.swedespeed.com/showthread.php?516273) for install and modifying the connector (to get some of the missing functions working).
(and thanks for the distraction today! this is going on my list of upgrades, along with a backup camera, and Apple CarPlay integration...)

Yeah I’ve been through and read that entire thread on sweedspeed would you believe, it seems that other people with late 2012 onwards are facing the same issue with a blank TFT display. The thread has several reports of people with earlier models where it just simply works, but for now on the newer cars the Russian or Polish modules are the only option.
I have the reverse camera on mine already but had no idea it’s possivle to integrate Apple CarPlay?

I didn't read all the way through the thread, so missed that part...
This module allegedly will give you CarPlay, though without touch control - http://www.navtool.com/volvo-s60-2011-2 ... rplay.aspx
Maybe some combination of that and the (official) volvo touchscreen upgrade would work? Or maybe even dropping in a complete Sensus module from a newer model?

I recently purchased a 2013 with the retrofit already done. Dealer tried to "update" the transmission so it would shift better and wiped it out. I now have nothing on my dash. I am angry, but want to fix this without ever seeing them again. Am I SOL or will VDASH help?
WHy is it just blank? I have fuel gauge and shirter position only.

Hmm.. I’ve actually done the retrofit myself since my last post, but I haven’t been back to the dealer for any work.
I suppose it could be possible that the previous owner had done a Vdash upgrade (which presumably alters the software on the cluster) and the dealer pushed a factory software to the cluster that overwrought the Vdash update?
Any way to get in touch with the previous owner?
