Thanks for all the info. I doubt it was enough force to crack the circuit board. I'll pull the stereo and crack it open as soon as I have a chance. Thanks!

The bulbs everyone has referred too so far are great for the dash switches, but not what I buy for the radio bulbs. Save yourself the minor headache, buy the radio bulbs that are already wired up in the correct base: https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/560-CNW123?

Thanks for sharing the part number. I am going to be swapping bulbs in the hvac and radio later this week. I ordered the 7219's from Amazon and was going to try and swap the bulbs on the black units but just called the local honda dealer and they have them for 2 bucks and change. After i pull them and see if its worth the aggregation, i may just swap those out being so cheap.

Methinks you don't want to mess with 7219's in the radio bulbs ... let us know!

Update: Finally got around to replacing the bulbs. It was pretty easy. Special thanks to kahl for supplying me with his leftover Honda bulbs. Now my whole stereo lights up. I feel like the Honda bulbs are slightly dimmer than the original Volvo bulbs, but at least now I can see all the buttons at night.

When pulling the stereo, discovered it's not original. It's a remanufactured unit from 2006. Also noticed these extra plugs that were not plugged in. What are they for (circled in red)? All the others were plugged in.

Do you have an amplifier under the passenger seat? Black box held down with 2 bolts on the LH side front floor under the passenger seat? Was the car fitted with a CD multichanger?

I will check for an amplifier in the morning. The car shipped with a CD changer, not sure it still has one (weren't these fitted somewhere in the boot?). I still use cassettes mostly. 8)

One looks like sub-antenna plug for diversity antenna system but SC-816 doesn't support that. Large 6pin plug is probably one end of extender cable for amplifier. But I'm not sure about third plug. Probably CD changer emulator for USB media or actual CD changer.

There's definitely a spot for the upper jack circled in red to plug in, but I don't think the other 2 go anywhere.
